Pierce County CARES Business Relief Programs 

Rapid Response South Sound.  The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Economic Development Board of Tacoma-Pierce County to respond to the business community’s top concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic by developing a Rapid Response Team and Rapid Response South Sound website co-sponsored by the City of Tacoma and other local businesses and organizations.

City of Tacoma Planning & Development Services The Permit and Development Center will continue to accept applications, review and issue development permits, and schedule inspections through its online permitting system, in addition to granting extensions on all building and development permits until June 29, 2020, and offering virtual meetings and inspections.

City of Tacoma Office of Arts and Cultural Vitality is maintaining local, state, and national resources as well as funding options for the creative community.

City of Tacoma Parking Services announced that paid on-street parking has been temporarily suspended until further notice.  During this time, parking enforcement actions will be limited to life safety violations throughout the city (e.g. parking on sidewalks, crosswalks, etc.).  In response to COVID-19, Parking Services is offering two programs:  Temporary ADA Parking and Temporary Short-Term Loading Zones.

Pierce County Connected:  COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.  The United Way of Pierce County and the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation have partnered for a coordinated philanthropic response to emerging community needs.
