Annual 'Brewers & Builders' event hosted by Rebuilding Together South Sound at Freighthouse Square
Rebuilding Together South Sound (RTSS) holds a yearly event at the historic Freighthouse Square in Downtown Tacoma. This century-old building, once a bustling railroad hub, is now a lively marketplace filled with eclectic shops, eateries, and art spaces. Its unique blend of industrial charm and modern design offers a picturesque and inviting setting for community gatherings.
RTSS is dedicated to repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives, with a vision of safe homes and communities for everyone. Their programs offer home modifications and repairs at no cost to low-income seniors, people with disabilities, and families with children in Pierce County, Federal Way, and Auburn. This work helps preserve affordable housing and enhances neighborhoods.
Programs Include:
National Rebuilding Day: Held on the last Saturday of April, it's the largest project day of the year.
Safe at Home: Provides home modifications and critical repairs year-round.
Rebuilding a Healthy Neighborhood: Focuses on revitalizing distressed neighborhoods in partnership with local organizations.
She Builds: Supports women in need with critical home repairs and training.
RampUp!: Builds wheelchair ramps for neighbors in need each October.
