The Doty Group Defends Best Costume Title at the 11th Annual Race for the Clubs
Last Thursday, on a beautiful, sunny day, the team from The Doty Group revved up their engines. It donned their cardboard box costumes, prepped for another year of the esteemed “Race for the Clubs” event hosted by the Woodworth Family Foundation at PGP Motorsports Park; this year's race saw an impressive $100,000 raised for The Boys and Girls Club of South Puget Sound.
Among 17 other company teams participating in the two-hour race, The Doty Group stood out again, keeping their winning streak alive by clinching the Best Costume award. This year, we proudly accepted the award for the eighth year in a row, continuing our tradition of infusing creativity and fun into this important charitable event.
Our team, named "Dotytona 1040," crafted ingenious costumes inspired by Disney/Pixar's Cars, transforming cardboard boxes into beloved characters from the movie. This team-building effort, which involved our families and brought us closer together, proved fun and rewarding as we successfully defended our Best Costume title.
Besides the thrill of racing and costume-making, the day was filled with cheer and camaraderie. A Hawaiian-style BBQ food truck, Kamaaina Grill, and an ice cream truck added to the festive atmosphere, making the day even more delightful.
But the real victory of the day wasn't the races or the awards. It contributed to the incredible work of The Boys and Girls Club of South Puget Sound. This exceptional organization provides much-needed safe, fun, and educational programs for children in our community, and it's an honor for The Doty Group to support their cause.
We thank the Woodworth Family Foundation for organizing such an impactful event. We are already excited for next year's Race for the Clubs and the chance to support our community while having a great time.
Thank you to all the participants and donors for their generous contributions, and here's to another year of high-speed fundraising and fun! Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the children who benefit from the Boys and Girls Club.
