Christmas in July: Supporting Toy Rescue Mission
Toy Rescue Mission: Bringing Joy to the South Sound Community
Toy Rescue Mission (TRM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing smiles to low-income children and seniors by refurbishing and recycling gently-used toys. Proudly serving the South Sound for over 25 years, TRM operates with the heart and hands of dedicated volunteers, receiving no state or federal funding. They provide essential services by accepting new and gently used toys and gift cards, ensuring that special days like birthdays and holidays are memorable for those in need. Every year, TRM distributes over 1,000 Easter baskets and organizes Christmas gifts for hundreds of children, making a significant impact on the community.
The Heart Behind the Mission: Martha Davis
Martha Davis, the dedicated leader of Toy Rescue Mission, has been instrumental in keeping the mission running since 2006. Under her leadership, TRM provides gifts for children up to 15 years old during birthdays, Christmas, and other special occasions and supplies school essentials, Halloween costumes, winter coats, and more. Davis’ deep commitment to helping children and families in need extends beyond seasonal events, ensuring that support is available throughout the year. More on Martha’s Mission can be found here.
The Doty Group's "Christmas in July" Campaign
This July, The Doty Group is excited to launch a new tradition with the "Christmas in July" campaign to support TRM. Our goal is to rally the community to collect toys, party supplies, gift wraps, and funds to help keep TRM’s mission alive and its facility operational. We aim to gather shelf-ready new toys, gently used toys (excluding Barbies), gift cards, and monetary donations to support their efforts year-round.
