Nic Townsend-Falck Leads Chamber Lunch & Learn on Inclusivity and Diversity in the Workplace
Nic is a Board Member & Director of Community Leadership Workshops for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Washington Affiliate, A Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador's Club Member and Special Events Chair, Tacoma Bureaucrats Toastmasters - VP of Public Relations ‘18-’19, President ‘19-’20, and Sound Advice Toastmasters - VP Membership ‘19-’20.
Earlier this month, Doty Valuation Analyst Nic Townsend-Falck presented at a lunch and learn for members of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber. He led a presentation and workshop about Inclusivity and Diversity in the Modern Workplace.
Nic’s Lunch & Learn led attendees through
a working vocabulary of preferable language surrounding marginalized identities,
resources to better understand state and federal policies and laws designed to protect people with marginalized identities,
encouragement of appreciation for diversity among employees and efforts to create more inclusive workplaces,
how to recognize personal implicit/unintentional biases and the impact they have in the workplace,
and best practices for designing an inclusive and diverse workplace
